"Originally born in South Africa, Paul Cumes is painter and sculptor from Santa Barbara, California.
Paul paints a myriad of subjects drawn from his biographical experience and is the recipient of a number of awards for his artwork.
Paul's art is held in numerous collections internationally and his extemporaneous and intuitive process can be viewed in his painting videos on the internet.
Paul Cumes believes in Matisse's tenet that "Exactitude is not truth" and that all true great art is nothing more than an honest expression of the self. "
